Valve Sizing

There are two main aspects to consider when selecting a control valve:

     1. Mechanical selection which includes factors such as:
          - Valve Style
          - Material
          - Pressure Rating
     2. Valve Sizing

The first aspect is done to ensure safe and reliable operation according to good engineering practices, material compatibility, local laws & regulations etc.  Secondly, the sizing of a selected valve is important to prevent unwanted phenomena such as cavitation or excessive noise, which can be detrimental to the performance and lifespan of a valve.  Our technical team can assist you determine control valve sizing for any of your applications.  Selecting a correct control valve prevents poor control performance characteristics like hunting, excessive slow or fast response and poor accuracy.

The Summit team understands control valve sizing, valve communication systems and protocols and can help streamline your valve sizing and specification process.. We have access to the most up-to-date software and specification tools available to help you determine the right product for every application.  To speak to a valve sizing specialist contact us at your convenience.
